What is HIFU?
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) lifts and tightens skin for a non-surgical face lift and neck lift. It is a new type of non-surgical, non- invasive procedure similar to Ulthera therapy which uses focused ultrasound and the face’s own natural healing process to lift, tone and tighten loose skin on the brow, neck, under the chin, and even the chest area.
How HIFU Treatment Is Performed?
The HIFU procedure by passes the surface of the skin, and delivers targeted energy specifically into the deep, structural tissues and muscles where collagen lives.
By stimulating the deep structural support layers of the skin, a natural, regenerative response is initiated, stimulating the growth of new collagen, which lifts and tightens the skin over time.
Because ultrasound technology actually works non-invasively from the inside-out, results build gradually over 2-3 months, and can continue to improve up to 6 months after the procedure.
An anaesthetic cream is applied to the areas to be treated if needed.
As mentioned with HIFU, there is no downtime! You can return to your normal activities immediately after your procedure without any post-treatment restrictions or requirements.
It’s the lift without surgery! Patients treated with HIFU still have fresh young collagen after a year’s time following the procedure, but skin continues to age. Future touch-up treatments can help keep pace with the aging process, which varies by individual.
Risks and Complications
There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature and after, your skin will be firm and tighten.
